Each month we have a different theme for our mini yoga retreats. Are you feeling frazzled, overwhelmed, anxious. stressed? This is the session for you 🙂
This busy time of year we all need a little nourishment and nurturing. The monthly (Dec) will be taking time out of your busy lives and giving yourself some TLC. This is an opportunity and invitation for you to get away from the crowds and open your heart, nourish, nurture and heal whatever needs your attention.
This is an active rest practice, which will be very nourishing and restoring, using lots of props to help you sink into a series of passively held postures, supported by bolsters, blocks and blankets. Perfect for those busy people in need of time out, de-stressing or those who prefer a quieter practice. Restorative Yoga truly is a practice for every body.
In the last portion of the session we will dive even deeper into relaxation with yoga nidra, (yogic sleep). The only difficult bit is getting up afterwards 🙂 this will be helped with some delicious tea and a shared lunch.
During the session my colleague Lynne will be present to give you the opportunity to try the beautiful Doterra oils and Lynn will be discussing and advising you on the oils that can be helpful for your immune system during the winter months and answering any questions you have on the oils.
Each student will go away with a small gift of a rollerball of fractionated coconut oil mixed with an essential oil. We will finish the session by coming together and sharing lunch and tea. This event will be a shared lunch so please bring along a small contribution (vegan or Veggie).
This mindful, intuitive and introspective morning of yoga practice is self-nurturing, allowing space and time to deeply restore and heal from the daily stresses (of physical, mental and emotional energy zappers). During this deeply restorative practice you will explore restorative and yin yoga postures helping you to learn to relax and rest deeply.
A few of the measurable results of deep relaxation and a slow practice are, a reduction in blood pressure and the improvement of immune function, as well as improvement in digestion, elimination and the reduction of muscle tension and general fatigue.
When the Yin and Yang energies of the body are balanced we feel grounded but energies. A balance of effort and ease, action and surrender. If we create space in our busy lives to nourish our deep yin reserves through meditation, relaxation, mindfulness and ‘quiet time we have those reserves available when we need to call upon them.
